Water Governance Key activities

• Cross-country learning (capacity building training, knowledge sharing events and exchange visits for key government officials relevant to trans-boundary river governance)
• Community to community linkage establishment and demonstration of good water governance in the Mahakali river basin –a sub-basin of the Ganges (for example community based flood early warning system)
• Work directly with women and women’s network to strengthen their involvement in trans-boundary water governance
• Action research and evidence based advocacy for international cooperation on inclusive water governance and responsible consumption of water governance and responsible consumption of water.

NEEDS (National Enviornment and Equity Developnemt Society) established in Kanchanpur district and started its Community Based Integrated Rural Development program. Gradually NEEDS extended its working districts within the Far Western Region. Currently, NEEDS is providing its various services for community development, education and environment activities in the 2 districts of Far Western Region of Nepal. The projects and programs are mostly implementing through its own district chapters and other helping committees formed by NEEDS or through local based collaborative partners.
