NEEDS Nepal conducts public audit for every projects valued more than NPR. 50,000.00 to express our commitment to the project beneficiaries/ right holders, government and the development partners. At community level, we have established the complaint handling mechanism where our staffs collect feedback regularly and addresses those feedback and complaints with the leadership of senior management team in the organization.
b) Good Governance:
NEEDS Nepal has developed several policies, guidelines and administrative documents inside the organization to strengthen governance system and to promote social justice in its working areas as well as in the organization as well as supported the Government of Nepal at Municipal and Palika Level to strengthen the governance system. As a part ofimproving the organizational governance, NEEDS Nepal has introduced and adapted inclusive governance that includes; increasing the number of women in the governing and executive board, staff structure, authority delegationin absence of principle actor in the organization, transferring key role in every three to five years, internal finance controlmechanism, staff and beneficiary grievance handling mechanism etc. Based on its internal experience, we support the local and provincial government to form and implement improved governance practice in their system.
c) GESI and Social Justice
To promote Gender Equality and Social Inclusion within the organizational set up, NEEDS Nepal has developed Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Policy, Guideline and Framework, Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy, Anti-Sexual Harassment Policy, followed by Staff and Board Members, consultants and suppliers Code of Conducts to maintaining high level safeguarding in our workplace and organizational service systems
Following these policies and guidelines, NEEDS Nepal has increased the number of women board members, priorities for the Women, Dalit, Janjati, persons with disabilities & underprivileged and marginalized groups during staffs recruitments has gone high. Across the development and humanitarian program, mainstreaming GESI has become the highest priority.
With mandate to work in entire country, NEEDS Nepal, at present, has covered entire Municipalities and Rural Municipalities of Kanchanpur District in Sudurpaschim Province with additional coverage in Lumbini as well.

Children, women, PWDs, Senior Citizens, LGBTQI from both the urban rural settings mainly from poor, marginalized, and deprived communities those rights and entitlements have been violated from the centuries.
NEEDS NEPAL CORE CAPACITY
Social Mobilization:NEEDS Nepal has a pool of technical experts in Humanitarian Response, DRR/CCA, Safer Migration, Good Governance, Livelihoods, Health, WASH, Sanitation and highly experienced team member who have worked in remote areas of the Sudurpaschim & Lumbini Provinces through the process of social mobilization targeting the poor, most vulnerable and the deprived communities.
Coordination, Collaboration and Networking: NEEDS Nepal has its recognition being one of theleading organizations in the Province for its ability to make wider coordination with all the development and humanitarian actors including government of Nepal, Private Sectors, and NGOS/INGOs and also the communities. This ability has already been demonstrated with NEEDS Nepal’s ability to host MPAC and DPAC meeting in the district and our role in the DDRC and MDRC. We are also the member organization of National Platform and Network.
Advocacy &Influencing :NEEDS Nepal is involved in policy advocacy & influencing initiatives at local, district, provincial and federal level through its networks and forums linking that with learning from various projects in the community. NEEDS Nepal have done advocacy & influencing through the pull and push approach. We are creating awareness among the right holders and doing influencing events to make more accountable to the service providers. NEEDS Nepal has successfully able to implement National Building Code 2060 in Bhimdatta Municipality by doing regular advocacy & influencing activities. As a result of policy advocacy initiatives conducted by NEEDS Nepal, Government of Nepal has endorsed the policy to address issues being faced by Nepali workforce or the migrant workers for years, which we have taken as the greatest milestone.
Organizational Development:The professional team of NEEDS Nepal has more than two decades of experience on capacity building of employees and institutions. The team has extensive experience in the area of need identification followed by organizational capacity assessment, capacity development, curriculum design, training and evaluation of capacity building activities at various levels.
Social Marketing:Team members of NEEDS Nepal has almost a half-decade of hands-on experience on social marketing of the climate smart technology, agriculture-food security, safe migration products and services in their capacity as program team with different Social structure, local, national & international forum.
Strategic Thematic Priorities of the organization:

NEEDS Nepal has been implementing Safe Migration and Anti Human Trafficking programme since 2012 partnering with various international development partners. Strategically, we are focussed on the issues related to labour migrant workers, families left at home, and human trafficking.
Theme 2- Bio-diversity:
Disaster and Climate Resilience
a) CCA/DRR since 2005:
Since last 15-years, NEEDS Nepal is developing and implementing disaster risk reduction & climate resilience projects across the Palikas of Kanchanpur District. Being one of the highly flood prone districts in Nepal almost every year, NEEDS Nepal is providing humanitarian assistance to the people affected by the flash flood and landslide. Disaster and Climate Risk Reduction Projects include; hazard and risk assessment, preparing LDCRP, emergency preparedness, risk reduction activities, disaster relief and recovery activities. Through the DRR/ CCA and Humanitarian Program, NEEDS Nepal has reached out more than10,000 HHs as of 2020. NEEDS Kanchanpur has invested millions of resources to build the capacity of CBOs, CDMCs, WDMCs, D-NCDMCs, TFs and has supported to develop M/VDC level emergency preparedness plan. NEEDS Nepal is one of the lead organizations in the district to introduce climate smart technology to reduce climate vulnerability through the implementation of LAPA.
b) Humanitarian Response since 2007: NEEDS Nepal has implemented several projects in the past focusing on humanitarian assistance through the following key interventions:
Water, Sanitation& Hygiene (WASH): When disaster hit the communities, NEEDS Nepal is considered as one of the lead organization in the district to provide WASH and Sanitation services to the population affected by disaster. E-Wash, Sanitation and Hygiene is one of the pressing need during the disaster, which we are providing to the communities affected by flood time to time. With its expertise on WASH and Sanitation, NEEDS Nepal is one of the member organization in District and Municipality level WASH Cluster. Rehabilitation of water supply system, public health promotion and promoting sanitation to the affected community & settlement area are some of the focused areas under this theme.
Food Security & Livelihood: Emergency Food and Livelihood Recovery has been seen as other areas of intervention during and after emergency. To this end, NEEDS Nepal is providing an emergency food and livelihood recovery support services through the kind and cash intervention. The organization is playing a key role in food cluster district level and provincial level. In addition to this, we are engaged in post-disaster recovery initiatives providing different types of livelihoodoption with appropriate, acceptance & climate adoptive livelihood technologies.
Nno Food Items & shelter : NEEDS Nepal is providing NFIs and Shelter support to the population made homeless as a result of damage caused by the disaster and is one of the active member in NFI & Shelter cluster in the Sudurpaschim cluster.
Gender & Protection: NEEDS Nepal integrates GESI and Protection issues across the humanitarian and development programs throughout the project cycle management stages.
Theme 3 - Economic Development and Food Security:
Considering agriculture as backbone of local and national economy, NEEDS Nepal is support agriculture dependent communities thoroughtechnologies and agriculture inputs. NEEDS Nepal is building its niche to build partnership and implement food security and nutrition program in food insecure districts of Nepal.
Micro-enterprise promotion & entrepreneurship development:
NEEDS Nepal has been designing and implementing micro-enterprise and entrepreneurship related projects and program aiming to boost up local economy engaging the most vulnerable women and men member of society. Through the most competent staff members, we support women and men youth members to enhance their vocational skill as required by the local market and businesses. Till now, we have trained youths and promoted large number of on-farm and off-farm businesses offering employment opportunities to the hundreds. The vocational training that we provide to the youths are as per the standard of the Council of Technical Education & Vocational Training (CTEVT). The organization has also practising the SMMEs and enterprunership with the engagement of privates sector, market jobs facilitator and oursourcing companies for the job placement facilitation like; suvidha sewa, people to people, real solution.
3.3 Health and Nutrition
NEEDS Nepal has a pool of human resources to work with the communities to promote food security and nutrition program in order to increase food sufficiency level of most needy family and to improve nutritional status of children and women. Reproductive health is another area of expertise that NEEDS Nepal has.
Cross Cutting Theme:
Cross cutting Theme 1- GESI: To ensure equal and fruitful participation of Men, women, Dalits, persons with disabilities and other ethnic community within the organizational and human resource structure and in the communities; we apply GESI policies, procedures and guidelines that NEEDS Nepal has developed and approved. We do this by awareness raising on the importance of GESI, capacity building of board and staff members, and addressing GESI issues thorugh dedicated human resource and the budget. To promote GESI, we implement standalone project on GESI and make the GESI cross-cutting theme as well.
Cross cutting Theme 2- Good Governance and Advocacy :NEEDS Nepal has realized that inclusive development will not be achieved without effective decentralization and promoting good governance at all level. To achieve overriding goals of decentralization and good governance, NEEDS Nepal builds an effective partnership with local community and their networks at different level and fostering partnership with provincial and federal NGOs/ INGOs to implement a right based programme.
